Who Is Emily?

Raised in Dillon Montana, Emily’s art journey began in the early mornings of her youth at the kitchen table. Emily found that if she rose early, she would have time to color with her dad before he went to work. Those consistent and positive experiences as a child, and with supportive parents, art follows wherever she goes.

Although many around her knew it before she did, it became clear that teaching art is her calling. Therefore in 2023, she attended University of Montana Western to pursue a degree in art education. While she was there, she continued pursuing her artistic abilities alongside eduction. In the spring of 2026, she participated in an exhibition at Western’s Fine Arts Gallery, presenting a series of work alongside other art students.

Whenever others ask Emily what she likes to draw and paint, she always says ‘people’, along with whatever medium she can get her hands on. Though her art is not limited to portraits, her sketchbooks are filled with face after face and body after body, exploring the movement, expression, and emotions of humanity. She finds joy in simple observations and captures everyday experiences to bring them to the spotlight.
